 Self-Monitoring [CLO: 2]

Prior to completing this discussion, please read Chapters 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 in Hilliard, Riekert, Ockene, and Pbert (2018).

When working with clients with health risks and/or disease, it is important for the client to have self-management interventions to use in between sessions and after treatment has terminated. In your initial post, describe the central role that the client will play in managing his/her condition. Next, identify a self-management intervention to monitor symptoms, medication, and/or stressors for your assigned hypothetical client. Justify your choice with at least one scholarly source.

Please select your hypothetical client, based on your last name:

Marcus, a 45-year-old, Caucasian male with Cardiovascular Disease: Last names beginning with A through E
Tina, a 28-year-old, Asian female with Type 1 Diabetes: Last names beginning with F through K
Eddie, a 15-year-old, Hispanic male with Asthma: Last names beginning with L through P
Shana, a 34-year -old, African American female who is Overweight: Last names beginning with Q through U
Dalia, a 60-year- old, Caucasian female with Cancer: Last names beginning with V through Z

Guided Response: Respond to two peers who were assigned a different case vignette, evaluate the Self-management intervention that they selected for the client. Consider the questions or concerns that the client may have regarding health monitoring, and pose them to your peers. Then suggest a digital self-management tool that might also be useful.
